Burglary suspect dead yet Missouri City, Texas, Authorities said a police officer was shot in the face and left following a chase with his car early on Saturday morning.

The Missouri City Officer 29-year-old Crystal Sepulveda has been identified as a three-year veteran of the force. Lance Bothell, an assistant police chief in Missouri City, said Sepulveda was rushed to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center and is expected to make a full recovery.

“She’s a strong officer and she’s going to get through,” Bothell said.

Police said the chase began just after 2 a.m. when officers discovered a stolen car linked to an aggravated robbery call at a gas station. The driver of the stolen car allegedly refused to stop and led the officers in a chase before stopping his car in front of a house.

Authorities stated that the suspect ran out of the car into the backyard of the house and shot the officers. Police said he hit Sepulveda in the head and feet.
